Pella Tulip Time
Pella, Iowa
For Katie, Pella Tulip Time is more than a spring festival. It is a place filled with family memories, Dutch traditions, and the kind of small-town magic that keeps people coming back year after year. With personal ties to Pella through her mom’s hometown and childhood visits to her grandma near the town square, Katie has experienced Tulip Time from both sides: as a child dressed in Dutch clothing and scrubbing the streets before the parade, and now as an adult returning to celebrate the season with family. From wandering downtown shops and admiring Pella’s historic charm to watching the parades and enjoying Dutch favorites like poffertjes and Dutch tacos, Tulip Time captures so much of what Katie loves about rural Iowa: tradition, community, simple joys, and the feeling of coming home.
